The men from Bloggers in Big Shoes got together last night for some pre-game training forthe football game against SAFFC s this Sunday!

Fabian and Jeremy graciously agreed to train Alfie, Eileen, Nura and myself. Fabian’s a great guy and I’m really impressed with what he’s been doing with Soccer with a Vision. It’s really commendable that he believes in using soccer to give back to the community.

He’s also been a great help. He managed to secure us a small training court at NUS on short notice. Fabian’s twin brothers Jeremy and Jonathan will also be joining us on Sunday.

I had fun training and playing with the guys. the last time I played football was in primary school. I still have many happy memories playing football during reccess. I used to be the ‘Handball King’.

Now, this Sunday, I will be playing against SAFFC! Who would have thought?

Unfortunately, I was never a good footballer. Not much has changed.

Fabian is a great coach though. He’s very nuturing and encouraging. I can imagine that he does great work with kids through Soccer With a Vision. I have a feeling that the young kids he teaches are much better than me.

I’m built like a tank though. So I hope I can become a super blocker.

It was fun playing some football with my good buddy Alfie. Though Alfie and I try to keep ourselves in shape, playing with Fabian and Jeremy, it felt like two old warhorses riding with two young stalliones (in my case, I’m not sure if I’m more of a bull than a horse…hmmm…).

When we were looking for a sponsor, Alfie was great in helping us out. He gave us a few contacts. Fortunately, Canon graciously stepped in and they’ve been great to us, so I’m glad to say that we didn’t have to bug Alfie’s buddies.

But we still need donations for Project Baby Love though. We’ve raised about $413  so far. We’re trying to raise $3,500. This will be enough money to sustain the 50 babies for about 3 months, provided none need medical care. Kindly donate to Project Baby Love here, if you believe that all babies deserve love.
