This year’s, Bloggers in Big Shoes is proud to raise awareness for Sanctuary House and their online fund raising initiative Project Baby Love.
Santuary House is a volunteer welfare organization that provides emergency foster care services to children and infants as well as crisis pregnancy services.
They provide emergency infant care services to that aims to provide short-term care to infants if their parents are incapacitated due to hospitalisation, incarceration, and financial inability. It works in tandem with counselling and coaching services that are aimed at longer-term solutions to help parents deal effectively with their challenges through strategic and accountability plans, financial assistance services through government sources, and job placement counselling.
They also provide pre-adoption infant care services to infants who are waiting to be adopted. Some parents who relinquish their infants for adoption need to place them in the hospital for a period of 2 weeks to 2 months. These parents cannot afford to do so. Sanctuary House steps in and provides a safe and loving environment for these infants who are anxiously awaiting a new home.
